Dear viewers of Chart Busters, Good evening. I am Kawashiri Ren from JO1.
We, JO1, released our 3rd single Challenger on April 28th. Thank you very much.
- Release of the 3rd single Challenger
This work has the theme of challenging the unknown world. There are various songs featured and among those there is the lead track Born To Be Wild. Following the title, there is the wild choreography of starting the engine of your bike. It became a fight song that supports you when you take the very first step forward to challenge the new world.
- Something you challenged at Challenger
Because there is the title Challenger, we as JO1 took up a challenge during the production. This time there are more English lyrics in the songs than before, so we took up the new challenge of English pronunciation and how to sing in English and such things. Please listen to it.
- Is there a good part that makes you say “look at this!”
Well, if we go with my scenes, there is a scene in which I’m flipping around a tarot card and it’s zoomed to it and you see everyone dancing. I thought that cut was quite difficult during the first shot, but it was okay in one shot and... it was okay in the one shot! (laughs)
- I was excited by being shot during the dance when you sing ban ban ban
Really? Well, there is the turn turn turn and ban ban ban part and during the first time everyone does that -makes the shooting gesture- and during the second time I’m dancing and i can sing together with the members Keigo and Sukai and this small formation is quite interesting. Please pay attention to the dancing too.
- What is expressed with the choreography of putting your fingers between the open palms?
This one? -demonstrates it- actually, it expresses a key and a key has those prongs, right? This is like tracing it. And the dynamic of “I have this key and let’s go to the new world together!” is included. There is also the “step dance” that expresses taking that very first step into the new work, so please check this out too.
- Is there something new you were able to challenge exactly because of the current situation?
As expected, the time spent at home has increased and there is more time to study. There are language classes and there are also members who study how to write songs. I hope to showcase that one day. That’s a new challenge.
