How do the people who work in the center of this spend their time now and what do they think? Modelpress brings the "Cheer up message" which you want to hear now through a remote interview. This time it is with Kawashiri Ren (23) from the boygroup JO1 which was born from the survival audition program "Produce 101 Japan".
Kawashiri Ren's 'home time' What do you do at home? Please tell us if there is something you aim to do or if you started something new! At home, I'm really into making meals myself nowadays.
We saw your pictures on Instagram. Did someone else made food for you previously? Previously I also lived alone and I made it because I liked it, but in this time, I have (more) time for it, so I thought I could try more now.
Do you do the shopping yourself and think about the recipes? When I see delicious looking food pictures on SNS, I think 'I want to try making this!' and I go to the supermarket to bu the ingredients which I looked up before. OF course, I wear a mask (when I go out).
Please tell us, if there is something you aim to do or something new you have started. I started to learn how to play the piano, so at night befire I go to sleep, I always practise for about an hour.
We heard that your manager teaches you this. I try to study on my own, but because our manager is really good, I ask him about the things I don't understand... and he will teach me those.
Which song are you practising right now? Because I want to write a song one day, I'm rather studying how to write a song than practising some songs.
How do you communicate with the members? There is a member's LINE grup chat, so we talk there and because we live together, there are times when we suddenly meet on the way to the supermarket. Everyone gets along.
The role of the entertainment world according to Kawashiri Ren
What do you want to do when the situation has calmed down? The first thing is that I want to meet all JAM who supported us. We made our debut in a situation in which we ended up not being able to do a lot of activities and theire is a lot of 'I want to this, I want to do that', thus we want to do a lot of activities, so that we can repay all JAM.
We feel you did a lot of entertainment related things which were possible under these circumstances like the 'La Pa Pa Pam' performance on Mezamashi TV on the 4th and YouTube and SNS updates. How was the Mezamashi performance? It felt difficult to dance in the middle of a set that was just a small room (laughs), but on the contrary it was something interesting. Because a lot of artists also sang and danced like that at home, it was a very enjoyable feeling to watch the video.
As an artist, what is the role of the entertainment industry right now? As expected, I feel once more that our work wouldn't be possible without the people who watch it nd support us. Right now for example, we practise at home, but not only me but all the members have the thought 'I want to show the things I've practised to a lot of people', so when this situation has settled down, I hope we can send this grown feeling to everyone.
