One day I want to make my own song & do also the staging

Kawashiri Ren who sent out an overwhelming presence since his appearance at the audition show PRODUCE 101 JAPAN with his smooth and graceful dance and unique charisma. The gap of having a high tone laugh and a soft natural face at the same time is playing with the fans, but his biggest charm are of course his cool performances.
“Because I’m dancing for more than 10 years, I’m trusted with the position of JO1’s performance leader. The highlight of the 2nd single’s lead track OH-EH-OH is the dance which has a feeling of moving fast. The choreography was made by the same choreographer as our debut song “Mugendai”. This time there is no muscle kiss lol, but also this time we have a catch in the choreography, so when you watch the video, I will be happy if you imitate it.”
This song is a supporting song for teenagers who carry anxiety about the future, conflicts and worries.
The lyrics which are part of the chorus “叶えるよきっと keep on running” (it will surely come true keep on running) are exactly what we want to convey. The thought of we are with you, so it’s alright to continue to move forward is included. To express that bluntly in 5 or 10 years, our way to capture things and our ways of thinking might change. Considering it further, it’s good to have a song with such a message. I’m happy if for the Adult JAM also it becomes a opportunity to remember something important.”
Kawashiri who has the aim to act like a producer not only in the way of presenting dancing, but also for the group JO1.
“Because I have the dream that one day I want to write songs, dance, sing and make the stage myself, I can’t stop practising or thinking about it daily.”
Also during activities self restraint period, for the fans supporting them, we always thought what we can do for them.
“I personally wanted to upload a dance video, but I couldn’t do it because of various circumstances. Hoping to properly (show how to) clean hands and gargling, I posted a video about making soap. Washing hands isn’t an obligation, so I thought making it fun would be good. But making soap became a failure lol besides that it’s unfortunate that we couldn’t do activities like we expected them to do, we could reaffirm our feeling of thankfulness due a lot of people supported us. I think that before we can overcome this situation, we can surely grow in a way which wouldn’t be possible if he hadn’t encountered such hardships, so I try to stay positive.”
Recently, TV appearances became more.
“What I felt during the recording was that people who are active on TV speak louder than I expected and it. That’s something we still lack. It’s necessary not only to practise singing and dancing, but also the way of speaking and manners. In front of the members and fans, without realising it I’m talking normally with a high voice, but I was told that in stern situation, I tend to speak in a slightly deeper and sharper voice. I guess I express that we have to do it properly. I’m doing my best lol Our leader Sho, is also good at talking and looking around, so while observing and helping him I want to everyone to improve together.”

Q1: Did you wear Gakuran or Blazer in school?
In Highschool it was a Gakuran.

Q2: Were you particular about wearing your uniform during school times?”
I pulled up my pants. When I was in school, wresting pants low was common, but I wanted my legs look long, so I pulled up my pants.

Q3: Where did you sit in class?
At the back. The seating order was done by lottery, yet if I got one of the front seats, I traded seats with someone whose eyes were bad. In the back, I always talked with my friends. Sorry teachers.

Q4: Which member you would have become your friend in Middle or Highschool?

Q5: How would you have fun with that member?
Handsumo. I’m sure I would win lol we are only a year apart and we have the same age feeling already, so even if we met during school days, I’m sure we would have a similar good relationship.

I feel like Ren & me have a similar way of thinking somehow. If I’m asking “don’t you think that?” about something they came to my mind, Ren always thinks the same. He would have become someone I could talk deeply with. If there is someone I could fool around with, it would be Junki.

I’m also like that, but Ren is someone who is actively involved in various activities, so I guess we would be in the executive committee of the sports or school festival together.

Q6: If you carried some kind of worry with you during school time, please tell us.
My high school was focused on employment (right after graduation), so everyone around me practised job interviews and prepared themselves for employment, but meanwhile I was aiming for this job and practised dancing. The anxiety about my future was big.

Q7: Does your current self match to the you, you imagined to become in the future back in school days?
I feel like I am heading towards the things I wanted to do.
