Q: What does JO1 need to do in order to achieve the goal of “becoming Japan’s number one first”? (as stated) on their YouTube channel? Ren: It’s hard to choose between music and performances, so I also think it’s very difficult to say what makes Japan’s number one, but I think when we find our own colours and bring them in shape, we can become one of a kind. That’s why, first if we find “that’s JO1!” and a lot of people enjoy watching our performances, I think we can become the number 1 naturally.
Q: A song you want to recommend to people hearing JO1 for the first time Ren: “Mugendai (INFINITY)”. We are a group born from an audition program and I think one of the interesting things about us is that we grow together with the fans. It is one song that expresses our “infinite” potential, so I think it could be an easy song to get into if you just started to watch JO1’s future growth.
Q: A hair colour you want to challenge next? Takumi: black. Bleaching is hard. It is also hard to go frequently to the hair salon, so for the length I would like to make it either extremely short or long.
Q: How do you spend your off days with the members? Takumi: I like to do things alone, so on off days I watch movies, dramas or anime by myself.
