"That’s amazing” How Nishikawa Takanori was surprised by the “prompt“ for OWV’s formation

The boy group OWV had a guest appearance on the streaming program “Nishikawa Takanori’s Nishinana Live” which is streamed via the app “17LIVE”. On this program they revealed the occasion of the group’s formation.

OWV was formed by 4 former trainees of the audition program “PRODUCE 101 JAPAN”. Regarding this, Nishikawa inquired “JO1 debuted first, but then OWV was formed as a new group. How were you notified about it (= the group’s formation)?”

In response to this question, Honda revealed “After we were eliminated, I talked with Yoshimoto and told them ‘I want to form a group with these four members’.”, which surprised Nishikawa “So it was a reverse proposal!”. He was astounded, adding “That’s amazing.”

When he asked next “So you felt something like a teamwork between you four during the audition?” Honda keenly replied “That’s right. We already got along well with each other.” In order to draw more out of them Nishikawa said “It is rare to meet like this. I have been in a band for a long time, so we are kinda like you.”, to which Honda nodded and replied “During interviews, we have been told ‘You are like a band’.”
